Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in Southern Africa, with a well established safari industry that boasts excellent hotels and infrastructure. We recommend that you start a course of prophylactics prior to your arrival. Hunting can be conducted all year round, however the prime hunting period runs from April through to November. Bvekenya Safaris operates in several hunting areas around Zimbabwe, so that we can fulfill our clients expectations. there is no single area in Zimbabwe that is good for all species, hence at times, depending on what you would like to hunt, we may move to a different area to get those last few plainsgame animals.
All our camps offer a high level of comfort in the bush without loosing the atmosphere of an African safari. Each lodge has an ensuite bathroom with hot and cold running water, and flush toilet. The beds are comfortable with overhead mosquito netting. Laundry is done on a daily basis. Our chefs will provide you with world class catering, giving you the choice of a wide range of food and drink. If you have any dietary preferences, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate them. Our camp staff are all there to spoil you, and cater to your every need.
We are proud to announce that we have been operating in both the Chewore North and South areas for over 20 years. We work in close conjunction with several companies in these areas. The Chewore area has the Zambezi river to the North, and Zambezi valley Escarpment to the South. Sapi is to the West and Dande runs along the Eastern border. The area stretches for over 2,000,000 acres, offering the discerning hunter a wide range of game including elephant, buffalo, lion. leopard, hippo and plainsgame.
We have been offering hunts in the Sapi and Nyakasanga safari areas for several years. Both areas are on the Zambezi River and offer exceptional big game hunting as well as tiger fishing. Both areas cover over 380 000 acres, please note that this is a tented camp but with all the comforts you may require.
It is, without doubt, the prime safari area in Zimbabwe - boasting huge herds of buffalo totaling over 10 000 head. Approximately 3000 elephant and numerous plainsgame abound in this area. It is not surprising that there is also a large population of lion and particularly leopard. There is a choice of 4 camps - ranging from beautiful stone chalets with thatched roofs to first class East African styled tented camps. All accommodation has en-suite bath and toilet facilities, with hot and cold running water and flush toilets.
Bubye Valley Conservancy is without at doubt one of the finest hunting destinations in the whole of Africa, offering the discerning hunter opportunities to hunt buffalo, leopard, lion, limited elephant, and a wide variety of incredible plainsgame. Hunters can fly into Bulawayo where a vehicle transfer can be arranged to the Bubye which is rougly a four hour drive. Alternatively, there are several airstrips for those who wish to do an air charter direct from RSA, Harare or Bulawayo. You have a choice of seven camps, all of which luxury, en-suite bathrooms with fine dining and cuisine.
Located in the South East of Zimbabwe, a four hour drive from Harare, the terrain varies from thick ravine vegetation to open woodland, interspersed with rocky out-crops. Hunting is in 200,000 acres of the 1,000,000 acres of the Save Conservancy. The area boasts excellent buffalo, leopard and offers the hunter a diverse range of plainsgame in one area.
You will be required to obtain a visa on entering Zimbabwe. This is available at the Airport upon your arrival at a cost of $50. You can, if you wish, obtain this before travel. A departure tax of $20 is also required at the airport when you leave the country. Please note these fees could change at anytime.
A permit for all animals on the CITES list such as leopard, Elephant, Cheetah, Crocodile and primates must be obtained before the hunt as applicable to your country. Copies must accompany the hunter and the trophy shipment.
